Tram Fiera – Pendolina: construction works begin
Starting next July, the first works will take place in the areas around the Fiera district
The Fiera – Pendolina tram line project is entering its operational phase: the Regional Administrative Court (TAR) has rejected the appeal filed by the second-ranked bidder against the contract award, confirming the assignment of the works to the temporary consortium composed of Manelli Impresa/CMC, Hitachi Rail, and Alstom.
The first construction sites will open in July and will involve the relocation of utility networks in the western area of Via Orzinuovi, the remediation of areas designated for the future tram depot, and the initial preparatory works in the Fiera district.
The project includes more than 11 km of track and the construction of a new interchange hub with a park-and-ride facility of around 1,100 parking spaces in the Fiera area.
The tram thus moves from concept to concrete infrastructure, entering the construction phase and becoming a network, a mobility system, and a driver of development for the city’s future.
